Miss Kate: big girl bed

Yep, that's our girl, sleeping soundly in her big-bed. I spent the morning putting away all the cute bedding--duvet cover, sheets, and quilt and prepped the bed with her crib items--a couple small/familiar blankets and a few of her favorite stuffed dolls/toys. The bed was already moved up against the wall, but I rolled her quilt up and tucked it between the wall and bed (great little trick to keep toys from falling"down there") . Bed rail is in place soo...we jumped into the transition feet first. She napped there today and chose her bed over her crib when Mitch took her up at bedtime. The really deal-maker was the Dora the Explore pillow case! Hope the transition continues to progress in this positive fashion. (* I won't move her crib for awhile, it's always our back-up for little-stinkers who won't stay in bed)

Great tips Cindy! I don't know if I'll be able to fit Abigail's crib and big girl bed in the room though....but I love the idea of having it there if needed. Kate looks so cute all snuggled up, hope she stays all night!

Rachel, with Sam we were living in an apartment while our house was being built and we kept the pack-n-play in the front entry--as back-up.
