I am considering a chore chart/list, whatever you want to call it, for the kids. They are starting to get old enough to do more around the house than just pick up the toy room. I think they could help collect the trash (and recycle), maybe put away some of there clothes, help clear the table, pull weeds, etc. I am curious what other moms have their children help (specifically non-teens) so that my expectations are reasonable. I think it can also show them how as a family we have to work together
instead of
assuming (or expecting) mom will do it.

We started early! When asked (not consistently) he will clear his table, bring us his trash can and help unload the dishwasher (he loves to do that!).
We love it!
Both our kiddos are expected to bring their dishes to the kitchen after meals, and many times we request their help setting the table as well - they each toss their clothes down the laundry shoot each night - and they take care of the dishwasher soap tabs and start button when it's ready to go. This week Declan helped Daddy take out the trash and recycling and decided he wants to do that every week, so we'll see.
