A generational thing...

The news of Corey's death made me catch my breath...just a little.  As I walked into the office, I mentioned his passing to our student intern and she looked at me blankly.  She had no idea who I was talking about.   I walked up the hallway and passed to colleagues --my age and they responded with "we were just talking about Corey" and "I didn't realize he was 38", etc...  I will always remember Corey Haim for his role in Lucas because it was one of the first VHS tapes my dad rented for the new VCR (Caddy Shack being the other).  Rest in Peace Corey and well, Rest in Peace VCR.

What? He died? I'm on the West Coast I always hear everything last... So sad - I had such a crush.

Oh, I had a big-time crush on him, too (second only to Ricky Schroeder). He was one of the main reasons I bought all those Tiger Beat and BOP magazines...sad :(

He died? I didn't know that. Drug overdose? That's really stereotypical of me but he was a mess in recent years.

I must confess I loved "the corey's" as well. So sad.....we hear so much about fame and it's effects on today's stars, but we forget about the stars from the 80's and they are still feeling the effects of stardom!
