"Because parenting is not for the weak hearted"

Remember this?  Now read this. (Thanks CP for sharing).  Because though we (the Mayhems) did take a break, we are back in the thick of extracurricular(s).  Where is the happy middle-ground?

There is a middle ground. There is balance. You just have to find it. One of my best friends limits her kids to one sport/activity at a time. They typically do one thing in the Fall and another in the Spring. That's it! They get to choose what's important to them, and they expose them to lots of different things through other means (going to concerts, museums, watching friends perform...). We all just have to learn to say No sometimes.

Our problem, is each kid picks one thing that is four activities, some times multiple nights. My new work hours have helped, but it never seems to slow down as hard as I try! But, I have found a laundry solution at our house. Baby steps. Wink.
